Dick Mountjoy on the issues

Dick Mountjoy is a no-nonsense conservative Republican who believes in God, Country and Family in that order. He will fight to protect our nation from the threat of terrorists, the illegal alien invasion and runaway government spending.

Illegal Immigration:

“If we’re to protect our nation, we must control our borders.  That’s why, as our U.S. Senator, I will work to immediately strengthen our border with improved barriers and beefed up law enforcement.  I will also fight against any attempt to give illegal immigrants government funded services, and I will oppose ALL amnesty schemes.”

Runaway Spending:

“Congressional spending is out of control.  Democrats want to raise our taxes to pay for the overspending.  I strongly disagree, and in the U.S. Senate, I will fight to balance the budget by cutting wasteful government spending and dramatically reducing so-called ‘earmarks’ – not by raising taxes.”

Property Rights:

“The recent Supreme Court decision on eminent domain threatens every property owner in America.  I will fight for federal legislation that protects private property rights and ensures that no property owner can be forced against their will to sell their land to a developer.”

Homeland Security:

“The government must have the tools necessary to root out terrorist cells in America.  I fully support President Bush’s anti-terrorism plans.”

Supreme Court:

“Judge Alito is an exceptionally qualified choice for the Supreme Court – intellectual, knowledgeable and experienced in constitutional law.  His judicial philosophy reflects the views of the majority of Americans who are increasingly outraged by the current liberal activist court.  California’s current Senators have demonstrated how partisan and out-of-touch they are by opposing Judge Alito’s nomination.”

Marriage:

“I believe in marriage between a man and a woman, and I oppose special status based on:" sexual preference.”
